Baby Found Crying Uncontrollably On Murdered Mother’s Body
Residents were led to a dirt road near Laezonia by a gunshot and a baby’s cry, where the mother’s lifeless body was discovered.
The discovery was made on Pretorius Street around 19:00 on Friday. A local resident reported hearing what sounded like a gunshot near his home, according to CERT-SA.

“Upon further investigation, they found a horror scene with a baby, laying on top of his mother in the grass next to the road.”
“The residents immediately called the local security company for assistance and called for help on a community emergency Whatsapp group.
“Upon arrival, we found a security reaction vehicle stationary next to a dirt road just off the R114 near Laezonia,” CERT-SA spokesperson, Ruan Heyns.
When they arrived, they heard a baby crying in the grass next to the road. As soon as CERT-SA arrived on the scene, they were led to the location of a woman in her late twenties lifeless body.
They discovered her crying baby on top of her chest. Heyns said that the baby was quickly evaluated for signs of injury due to bloodstains on the baby’s hands. Furthermore, he said that the baby was not injured in the incident and was simply cold from lying outside for an extended period of time.

The baby was kept warm, and plans were made to transport her to a safe location. On arrival, the mother was declared dead. Her chest had a visible gunshot wound.
Police were called to the scene and an investigation has been launched. Meanwhile, Sergeant Tumisang Moloto of the Erasmia Police Department confirmed the incident.
He said that the woman in her late twenties had been shot and was declared dead.
