Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane has identified individual errors at the back as the main factor leading to their poor form in the DStv Premiership.
Chiefs are on a three-match losing streak so far in the new year after conceding six goals. One against Sekhukhune United, four against AmaZulu FC and one against Mamelodi Sundowns
Centre backs Zitha Kwinika, and Edmilson Dove are failing to form a solid partnership that doesn’t concede many goals.
Arthur Zwane states Kaizer Chiefs’ main problem
“When you look at the way we concede goals, it’s individual errors. We are working on that. You will see improvement as time goes on,” Zwane told the media.
“At the back, we leaking, at some point, we played three games without conceding a goal, and we were scoring. The problem starts when you concede four goals in one game.
“We’ve been working on that aspect that we don’t concede goals cheaply.”
Another department that needs improvement
Arthur Zwane further revealed another department that has been making the team fail to grind results.
“We are in that process where at the moment, the results are blowing hot and cold, not because we are not playing very well. When you look at the performance of the team, the way we create chances week in, week out.
“You will also see improvement in the final third, in terms of finishing, because that’s another aspect that has let us down, but things will change for the better,” Zwane added.
Kaizer Chiefs will be hoping for a stroke of fourth-time luck in the league when they host bogey side Royal AM on Sunday, a side that defeated them 1-0 on the opening day of that season back in August.
