Riccardo Calafiori, 22, has completed a move from Bologna, as Mikel Arteta continues to strengthen his squad ahead of the new campaign.

Europe

Following the arrivals of Lucas Nygaard, David Raya and Tommy Setford, the Gunners have now announced the signing of Calafiori.

The Italy international signed for a fee in the region of £40-million (± R800-million) and has already joined up with his new teammates on their pre-season tour of the USA.

He could make his debut as soon as Wednesday when Arsenal face Liverpool.

As far as outgoings are concerned, the Gunners are on the verge of letting 23-year-old Emile Smith Rowe join London rivals Fulham.

The Cottagers have agreed a club record £27-million (R540-million) fee for the midfielder, with an announcement of the signing imminent, according to multiple reports.

Across London at Stamford Bridge, Aaron Anselmino completed his medical to join Chelsea on a £15-million (± R300-million) transfer from Boca Juniors.

According to Sky Sports, the highly rated teenager is set to return to Boca for the rest of the Argentinian season before joining the Blues squad in December.

While all of the Premier League’s biggest clubs continue to remain active in the window, one club that is yet to make even a single signing is Liverpool.

Under the new leadership of Arne Slot, the Reds have found themselves out of the rumour mill, too, as far as incomings go. There have been stories of potential offers for their current players, though; and one of those is Wataru Endo.

The Japan captain made 34 starts under Jürgen Klopp after joining last season, and according to the Daily Mail, there has been an offer for the player from Marseilles.

Renowned reporter David Lynch has also added that a number of German sides are also interested in the midfielder, with no bids accepted by the Merseyside club just yet.

Over in Germany, Borussia Dortmund have completed the signing of Pascal Groß from Brighton.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Champions League runners-up sealed the deal for the 33-year-old for £6-million (± R120-million) with Nuri Sahin viewing him as a crucial part of the first team for the upcoming campaign.

South Africa

Closer to home, Cape Town City star Khanyisa Mayo looks set to snub both Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns as he makes a move away from the Mother City.

While there has been no confirmation of any bids yet, Soccer Laduma have reported that the Bafana Bafana striker is more likely to move to North Africa than to stay in the PSL.

Another player linked with Masandawana and Amakhosi is Yanga SC’s promising attacker Stephane Aziz Ki.

Wydad SC have reportedly already made an offer for the Burkinabe, according to GOAL, but as it stands Yanga are keen to keep hold of the player.
