SuperSport United coach Andre Arendse has identified Deon Hotto as Orlando Pirates danger man ahead of their clash on Monday evening.

Matsatsantsa take on the Buccaneers in their penultimate game of the season, needing a win to climb back into the Top 8.

Interim coach, Arendse believes that  Hotto could play a key role in the encounter

“I think it’s important that we get our pressing structures working together as a team, because you want to minimise the supply from their defensive positions and their midfield positions to their front three,” Arendse told the club’s media team.

“A front three who certainly been on form for the team, spearheaded by the likes of Deon Hotto.

“For me [he is] a player who has been massive for the club this particular season. Whether he is working in open play, or whether he is on set pieces, he certainly poses a danger to any team for Orlando Pirates.”

Arendse also insisted that his side will do everything in their power to keep their glittering top 8 record alive, with SuperSport being the only team to finish inside the top 8 in every season since 1999/00.

“There has been a bit of talk of the proud record that SuperSport United has had over the years in terms of our top 8 positions,” Arenas added

“I believe that it’s one that the players want to continue. As a coach I would certainly like to do that as well, because I believe in the players and in the quality that we have and any starting XI that we put out there will have enough to be able to go and finish off the season on a high positive note.”

SuperSport have been ever present in the top 8 and qualified for every MTN8 tournament since it’s change of format from the SAA Super Eight in 2008.
