Former Orlando Pirates star Olisa Ndah has joined Stellenbosch FC this week.

The 28-year-old defender parted ways with the Soweto giants a few weeks ago after asking for his early release.

On Tuesday, the Cape Winelands outfit announced that the Nigerian international was their latest signing. Ndah join ex-teammate Tshegofatso Mabasa, who signed for Stellies on loan from Orlando Pirates.

“Stellenbosch FC is delighted to announce that the Club has acquired the services of defender Olisa Ndah (28),” the club said in a statement.

“The Nigeria international joins Stellenbosch on a free transfer after spending the last four-and-a-half seasons with Orlando Pirates and arrives as a welcome addition to the Club’s defence.”

The club’s CEO Rob Benadie said the ex-Pirates defender would bring quality and experience to the team.

“Olisa is a player with proven quality and experience at the highest level, and we are pleased to welcome him to Stellenbosch FC,” Benadie said.

“We are deliberate in our recruitment strategy to ensure that every signing complements the group, and having had the chance to assess him closely, we are confident he will be a valuable addition to our squad.”

Ndah becomes the fourth Nigerian player to represent Stellenbosch, alongside new teammates Ibraheem Jabaar and Kazie Enyinnaya, and former Maroons forward Stanley Dimgba.

He will wear the No. 99 jersey and could be in line to make his debut when the Club takes on Magesi FC in a Betway Premiership encounter on Wednesday evening at Danie Craven Stadium.

Will Ndah flourish at Stellies?
