Angola Out Of Cosafa U17 For ‘Age Cheating’

Angola have been withdrawn from the COSAFA U17 Championship after a number of their players failed eligibility tests.

The tournament which kicks off in Malawi today, acts as a qualifier for the U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Algeria.

South Africa will be in action Saturday afternoon when they take on Seychelles.

However Angola’s withdrawal will not effect Duncan Crowie’s team as Amajimbos are in Group B, while Angola were in Group A.

This means that only three teams – Malawi, Botswana and Namibia – will complete the group.

South Africa are in Group B with Seychelles, Mozambique and Zambia.
