Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Andile Jali is set to return to training after his short break at home, his agent, Mike Makaab, has revealed.
The ex-Orlando Pirates star’s agent, Makaab, said this in an interview on Gagasi FM. Sundowns played Stellenbosch in Cape Town on Sunday and flew back to Johannesburg late in the evening after the game.
Jali was not part of the team that travelled with indications he was facing disciplinary action, while reports also linked him with a move to one of the Soweto giants, Kaizer Chiefs.
Makaab has since come forward to clear the air and confirm that the 32-year-old is back at his club.
MIKE MAKAAB PROVIDES ANDILE JALI UPDATE
“He [Jali] is back at training. He has been at home, and that’s not a secret,” said Makaab.
“One needs to look at the human element of this whole thing. We have to understand that we have a player that is not settled.
“However, It is nobody’s fault. It’s not his fault, and it’s not the football club’s fault. These things happen in football.”
Makaab also revealed that they tried their best to find a solution regarding the matter but reckons that, at times, these things take time to unfold.
MIKE MAKAAB PREFERS THINGS TO UNFOLD NATURALLY
Makaab says he prefers things to happen naturally rather than for them to be forced.
“Things that are not done naturally, there is pressure from one side or the other. And people end up concluding something for the sake of concluding it.
“I don’t believe those arrangements ever work out. I prefer to let things unfold as naturally as they can,” he added.
It remains unclear if Jali will be part of the squad that will face Al Ahly at Loftus Stadium on Saturday, 11 March 2023.
Masandawana played out to a 2-2 draw with the Egyptian giants almost two weeks ago in Cairo.
