ANCYL Calls on Ramaphosa to Remove All DA Ministers From GNU

The ANC Youth League (ANCYL) president, Collen Malatji, has called on President Cyril Ramaphosa to remove all Democratic Alliance (DA) ministers from Cabinet and engage other political parties to replace the DA in the Government of National Unity (GNU).

The call follows tensions between the ANC and DA after the DA opposed the ANC’s Constitutional Court bid to reinstate 181 candidates who were excluded from the November 4 local government election ballots.

The ANC ultimately emerged victorious in the Constitutional Court, which ruled in its favour in the dispute over the excluded candidates, dealing a blow to the DA’s opposition to the application. The ruling has further strained relations between the two parties and reignited debate over the DA’s continued participation in the GNU.
