ANC member attempts to halt Gauteng conference

An ANC delegate from Ekurhuleni region-Jabulani Sithole is taking the ANC, the NEC, the Gauteng PEC and the ANC in Gauteng and its regions to court.

Sithole argues the conference cannot continue while the issue of the 19 votes from the Ekurhuleni regional conference remained unresolved.

Well, earlier Gauteng chairperson David Makhura- said the ANC will defend the NEC decision in court.

Advocate Simphiwe Tshikila for the applicant asked that the matter be heard urgently.

He’s telling the court the notion that the new PEC should deal with the matter of the ‘quarantined votes’, is not lawful.

In those court papers filed, Sithole argues the NEC had erred when it gave the PEC the go-ahead to hold the conference.
