Amiens President Slams Zungu – iDiski Times

Bongani Zungu has come under fire again in France after his red card over the weekend in Amiens 2-1 loss to Pau, with the club’s president this time criticising the Bafana Bafana international.

Amiens coach Philippe Hinschberger was livid with Zungu after the game, and now the club’s president, Bernard Joannin, has also criticised the South African’s behaviour in the game.

Joannin expressed his views on his social media pages, saying Zungu’s aggressive attitute let the team down.

“There are a lot of regrets after this defeat and disappointment also for Philippe Hinschberger, Francis De Percin and the staff of Amiens SC who prepared this match with the strong desire to win to move up the standings and overtake the evening opponent,” he said on social media.

“But two game facts put an end to our very good first half. A head-to-head loss at the hour mark which would have allowed us to lead 2-0 and at the end of the match what can we say about the unacceptable attitude of Bongani Zungu?

“After verbal exchanges with the referee, he collects a yellow card, then persists in his aggressive attitude.

“Sanctioned by a red card, he abandoned his teammates to ten for the last twenty five minutes.”
