AmaZulu have sacked Brandon Truter after five months in charge. FARPost recently reported that Truter had lost control of the situation at AmaZulu and was living on borrowed time.

“AmaZulu would like to announce that it has parted ways with head coach Brandon Truter. The 52-year-old was in charge for five months,” the club said in a statement.

Truter on Wednesday admitted he was feeling the heat after another league home defeat on Wednesday night at the hands of PSL newboys Richards Bay.

POOR RUN

Ironically, the topflight newcomers, who got their solitary goal at the stroke of full-time, are his former club.

Usuthu have struggled to collect maximum points in the last five matches, losing against Golden Arrows, Chippa United, Mamelodi Sundowns and Richards Bay, with one draw against Kaizer Chiefs.

Despite president Sandile Zungu coming out in support of the coach, Truter said their loss to Natal Rich Boys was a significant setback which may put him in danger.

AMAZULU ANNOUNCE BRANDON TRUTER SACKING

“We didn’t deserve to lose. We were in the front until the lightning came in. We created chances but couldn’t convert them. I saw that the supporters and club owners are not happy about it. It’s results that even when I have back up from the president and the club, it pressures for me to win games now,” Truter told the media.

“I feel it. The pressure is there, and the players feel it as well. We need to start winning now. Right now, I’m not feeling well. I’m not happy. I feel the pressure. We could be second on the log, but now I feel the pressure.”

In the last two years, the Durban outfit has grown massively brand-wise, reviving its prominent club status.

ABSOLUTELY GUTTED

With getting huge votes to qualify for the Carling Black Label Cup and being in the MTN8 semi-final, Truter understands that the team should be doing better on the pitch.

“We are a top-four team. We should be winning games, the team has grown off the field, and we should be doing the same with performances. So yeah, I’m absolutely gutted. I’m feeling the pressure now.”

The next three fixtures will be key for AmaZulu as they face Orlando Pirates, then Maritzburg United before facing Chiefs in the second leg of MTN8.
