AmaZulu have appointed former Bafana Bafana internationals – Mbulelo Mabizela, Manqoba Ngwenya and Reneilwe Letsholonyane.
According to iDiski Times sources, the trio has been appointed to work within the club structures with immediate effect.
However, at this stage it is not clear which age groups they will be split to work within Usuthu.
AmaZulu president Sandile Zungu confirmed the appointments of the trio, saying: “I’m sure the club will be issuing a statement in due course. At the moment, even myself I’m not entirely sure who fits where.
“But they will be within the development, but on who does which ranks and who does which other ranks, how they will work together and for how long, lets rely on the press release that will be issued soon.”
For Mabizela, who is the youngest player in South Africa history to have captained Bafana Bafana at age of 22 in June 2003, this is like all homecoming to the familiar territory.
The 42-year-old, who earned 45 caps and scored two goals in the process, previously played for Usuthu in the 2014/15 season, joining them in the second half of the season after he was released by Mpumalanga Black Aces.
But his arrival did not help Steve Barker’s side as they were relegated to the Motsepe Foundation Championship in that season.
Ngwenya had a good career with Mamelodi Sundowns, one time playing with OJ, as he won two league titles, with the first under Neil Tovey and Miguel Gamondi when they were named as co-coaches in the 2005/06 season.
The following season, with Gordon Igesund in charge and OJ having arrived abroad, Sundowns claimed their second league title and SAA Supa 8 to end the season with the double.
Letsholonyane had an outstanding career at Kaizer Chiefs, whom he joined from Jomo Cosmos ahead of the 2008/09 season.
Immediately, he won the MTN8 trophy in that season, the first under the telecommunication company since it took over from ABSA, scoring a winning penalty against Sundowns in the final in Durban.

He then won two league titles with Chiefs, the first in the 2012/13 season along with the Nedbank Cup in the same season.
He added another double – the second league title in 2014/15 season along with another MTN8 trophy, beating Orlando Pirates in the final in the same season.
Other trophies Yeye won at Chiefs were three Telkom Knockout trophies, including two in 2010 as they squeezed together due to the FIFA World Cup.
Yeye moved to SuperSport United in the 2016/17 season, adding another MTN8 and the Nedbank Cup.
He earned 54 caps, scoring two goals in the process. He was described by Mamelodi Sundowns senior coach Manqoba Mngqithi as the best ball player, who hardly played a back pass.
