AmaZulu Boss Keen To Hear From Broos

AmaZulu coach Brandon Truter has joined Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane that suggested they will be available to help national team coach Hugo Broos, who has been asking for a meeting with all PSL top-flight coaches.

Truter said as long as it benefits South African football, then he is in but he has to be led by the Premier Soccer League (PSL), the South African Football Association’s professional wing and the SA mother body of football (SAFA).

Broos has been crying for a meeting with all DStv Premiership club coaches to hear what he has to say and what they have to say, why SA football has declined internationally and what the coaches can say to him when he calls up their players.

With this not happening for over a year now, Broos says the next FIFA window in November and December during the FIFA World Cup, will be the last time he asks about it if nothing happens in getting this meeting taking place.

The issue here, from what one understands, is not about the clubs but about the PSL granting Broos this opportunity.

The former Cameroon coach said he has sent emails to the PSL about this meeting but no response, leaving him crushing at the league in public for something that he feels will benefit SA football globally.

“I have not spoken to the national team coach before,” said Truter when asked if he has ever got a call from the Belgian since he took over in May last year.

“But I think arranging that meeting is between the PSL and SAFA. I think every coach in the league has debated about it and at this moment we want to contribute to the national team.

“So we welcome that if it’s happening. If he phones me I’ll pick up the phone and speak to him because I had people that were called up to the national team.”

Usuthu had a few individuals such as goalkeeper Veli Mothwa and masseur Rendani Manuku that were part of Bafana side that thumped Sierra Leone 4-0 and 1-0 Botswana respectively a few days ago.

Ethan Brooks has played for Bafana “B” side during the Cosafa Cup a few months ago.

Joshua Smith, head of medical at Usuthu, used to be roped in by Safa to form part of the national team’s team doctor.

“At AmaZulu and myself as well, we are helping the national team and for the course. I think we will avail ourselves because we want to help as much as we can,” he added.
