Amabutho, armed with shields, demonstrated outside the Pietermaritzburg High Court on Wednesday.
Crowds of supporters of king-in-waiting Prince Misuzulu kaZwelithini gathered in the streets outside the court as judge Isaac Madondo finished a lengthy ruling.
Madondo’s decision allows Misuzulu’s coronation to take place. “He is the undisputed successor to the throne,” Madondo declared. He did, however, rule that an interdict application challenging the validity of King Goodwill Zwelithini’s will could proceed. The interdict would lapse if this application was not launched within 15 days.
