With only four days to the National Shutdown, the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in Gauteng has vowed to turn Midrand among other areas into a no-go zone on Monday, 20 March.

NATIONAL SHUTDOWN TARGETING STRATEGIC ROUTES

Speaking to The South African about the build-up, Philip Makwala, the deputy chairperson of the EFF in Gauteng, said the region is READY for the National Shutdown.

“We are very READY for 20 March and there is nothing that is going to stop us on the day,” he said.

“As a Build up towards the 20th of March we are already seeing that white monopoly capital or white supremacy is lobbying its right-wing forces,” Makwala said in the back of a picket outside Siemens South Africa where they were met with a large contingent of private security companies and police.
