All Stars Behind On Their Targets

Motsepe Foundation Championship side All Stars head coach Sinethemba Badela says they are behind in terms of the points they had targeted before the World Cup break.

All Stars are eighth on the log with 16 points in 11 matches. The coach says the league is a marathon however believes the clubs above his side, have a bit of an advantage adding that his charges will have their work cut out for them in the New Year.

“We’ve had a little bit of a slow start in terms of the points that we would have liked to have by now. We are a little bit behind so that means when we come back in the New Year ,we have to work a little bit harder” said Badela.

Following their unsuccessful bid to get promoted at the playoffs last season, the club moved to Gauteng where they haven’t as yet settled on a home venue. They have so far used Soshanguve Giant stadium and the Wits stadium.

They also have some matches scheduled for Tsakane stadium in January. Asked about this matter Badela felt that the club management would be the best people to answer however, admits it is difficult to find facilities and the team needs to settle.

“I know they (management) are trying. It’s very difficult to find facilities at the moment but it’s also frustrating for the team because we need a home.

“We need to settle somewhere. We have played two games at Bidvest, we have played two games at Giant so, we need to settle down now and find a home and make that place a fortress” added the coach.

Badela also concedes that the move Gauteng has been beneficial especially for travelling. Motsepe Championship action resumes on the 4th of January 2023.
