In the latest edition of iDiski Times, we looked at all the changes in coaching that have happened in the DStv Premiership this season so far.
The United States founding father Benjamin Franklin once said, “nothing is certain except death and taxes.” British humorist and novelist, Sir Terry Pratchett said, “taxes was worse because at least death didn’t happen to you every year.”
Well, coaches in South Africa could argue that the certainty of being sacked is even higher than taxes!
This week iDiskiTimes looked back at the first 100 days of the 2022/2023 DStv Premiership season and which clubs have already made changes to their technical teams, which clubs haven’t, and which clubs might in the near future.
There have been changes at eight of the 16 DStv Premiership clubs, and while some have been internal switches like at Mamelodi Sundowns, there have also been a few ‘switcheroos’.
Romain Folz, Brandon Truter and Dan Malesela all have already been employed by two clubs, although Truter, who started the season with AmaZulu, is yet to lead the Sekhukhune United team.
Marumo Gallants have had the most coaches leading from the bench so far, with Folz starting the season, Raymond Mdaka serving as caretaker before Malesela returned to the club he was at last season.
Royal AM – Khabo Zondo > Dan Malesela & Khabo Zondo > Khabo Zondo
Marumo Gallants – Romain Folz > Raymond Mdaka (caretaker) > Dan Malesela
Swallows – Dylan Kerr > Musa Nyatama (caretaker)
Sekhukhune United – Kaitano Tembo > Brandon Truter
Maritzburg United – John Maduka > Fadlu Davids
