  • Alexandra businessman and community leader Vincent “Vinny” Ndima was shot and killed in an apparent “hit” this morning after his vehicle was ambushed.
  • Around 40 spent cartridges were found at the scene on 13th Avenue, suggesting the unknown attackers used high-calibre rifles.
  • Ndima died instantly, while his friend sustained injuries and was hospitalised after reportedly exchanging gunfire with the suspects.

A well-known community figure and local businessman, Vincent “Vinny” Ndima, was tragically shot and killed in the early hours of this morning in what police are treating as a suspected assassination.

Ndima, who also served as the president of the local Parliament, was travelling with a friend along 13th Avenue near Joe Nhlanhla Street when their vehicle was ambushed by unknown attackers.

According to witnesses, the gunmen unleashed a barrage of bullets, striking the car with heavy fire.

Reports indicate that around 40 spent cartridges were found at the scene, suggesting the attackers used high-calibre rifles.

Ndima was pronounced dead at the scene, while his friend sustained injuries and was rushed to hospital.

The motive behind the fatal shooting remains unclear.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident, appealing to the community for any information that may lead to the arrest of the perpetrators responsible for the brazen attack.
