The seven men facing charges for the murder of rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and businessman Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane have been relocated to the high-maximum security eBongweni Correctional Centre in Kokstad, KwaZulu-Natal.

According to sources, the transfer took place quietly at the beginning of the year, with all seven accused moved from Durban’s Westville prison.

The relocation was reportedly carried out at the request of the State, although authorities have not publicly explained the reasons behind the decision.

Forbes and Motsoane were shot dead in February 2023 in a killing that shocked the country and drew international attention.

The suspects were arrested roughly a year later, following an extensive investigation into the high-profile case.

eBongweni prison is regarded as one of the country’s most secure correctional facilities, equipped with advanced surveillance and security systems.

It is typically reserved for inmates considered highly dangerous or involved in serious criminal cases, adding to the gravity surrounding the ongoing legal proceedings.

Meanwhile, developments in court continue to unfold.

Two of the accused, brothers Siyabonga and Malusi Ndimande, have appeared in camera, meaning their court proceedings were held behind closed doors due to the sensitive nature of the matter.
