Agent – What Mhango Told Me About Pirates Future

Mike Makaab, the agent of Gabadinho Mhango, has revealed what the Orlando Pirates striker has told him about his future plans in a recent meeting.

The former Orlando Pirates coach has long switched the dugout for his agency ProSport International, representing clients in South Africa as well as abroad.

Makaab confirmed that he recently met with Bucs chairman Dr. Irvin Khoza to discuss Mhango’s situation after he has played a limited role in the plans of co-coaches Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids this season.

The agent stated that Khoza agreed to let the striker leave should the club receive an offer that satisfies both sides.

But Makaab also shared that the player himself told him that he remains fully committed to the club until the end of the season before weighing up his future options.

“He has said to me, if he’s in the technical staff’s plans for the new season, he looks forward to staying at Pirates,” Makaab said on Gagasi FM.

“If he’s not [in the plans] and there is an opportunity for him to move locally or abroad, then he’s also open to that.”

Makaab then stated that he believes Mhango’s future will be resolved soon, but whichever decision the player and the club will take, it will be done on “correct fashion”.

“I’m pretty sure within the next maximum four to six weeks we’ll be exactly where Gabba is going to be,” he added.

“Will he be at Pirates, will he be at another club locally or abroad. Once again, it will be done in the correct fashion, he’s contracted to Orlando Pirates.”

Mhango, who had an outstanding Africa Cup of Nations earlier in the year, has only made 10 appearances for Pirates all season, but he did score one of the penalties in the CAF Confederation Cup quarter-final win over Simba SC.
