Agent tips Kaizer Chiefs superstar for big European transfer

Kaizer Chiefs have unearthed a gem in attacking midfielder Mfundo Vilakazi.

The 19-year-old was a shining light for South Africa at the Under-20 World Cup.

Despite falling short in the Round of 16 stage, Vilakazi stood head and shoulders above not only his peers but also his opponents at the tournament.

And now, the Kaizer Chiefs youngster has been tipped for a major European move in the future!

Kaizer Chiefs youngster tipped for serious move abroad

Mfundo Vilakazi has been struggling to break into the Amakhosi starting eleven.

He was promoted from the Kaizer Chiefs academy back in January 2024.

Since his promotion, Vilakazi has made 39 appearances for the Glamour Boys. Worryingly though, just four of those appearances have been from a starting position.

35 of his appearances have been from the bench for Chiefs. Things however are set to change for him after his heroics at the junior World Cup.

And now, his agent Mike Makaab is predicting Vilakazi will use the tournament as a springboard to a bright future.

“He is a sensible young man. He is serious about his life and career and a pleasure to work with. There is no doubt in my mind that opportunities will come although these things unfold naturally,” Makaab told Soccer Laduma regarding the Kaizer Chiefs starlet.

“It’s a step in the right direction. The time will come sooner than later where his next move will be a serious move. He is already at a serious football club, but I am talking about a European move.”

Vilakazi’s numbers in the PSL

In his 39 appearances for Kaizer Chiefs, 35 have been off the bench.

To date, Vilakazi has three goals and one assist to his name for Kaizer Chiefs.

These numbers are expected to increase, with confidence on the rise after the junior World Cup.
