Maumela Mahuwa

South African actress Maumela Mahuwa, best known for her role as Susan on Muvhango, recently sparked chatter online after a photo of her selling fruits and vegetables went viral.

The image, shared by social media user @miShumoZA_ suggested that the actress was facing financial difficulties following the end of the soapie’s 28-year run in 2025.

The post read: “Muvhango actress is struggling. She’s now selling fruits and vegetables on the streets,” prompting a wave of reactions across platforms.

However, fans were quick to defend Mahuwa, insisting that selling produce does not equate to financial hardship.

“What makes you say she is struggling just because of selling fruits?” questioned @zeusblxckthe1st, while @Mimi_Shoki added: “You are lying, this lady is not struggling, you should watch her live on TikTok.”

Another user, @chrisnkuna, weighed in, saying: “She’s making more money now than she ever did as an actress, so she’s clearly not struggling.”
