Action Spar confirm acquisition of Excelsior Motsepe League status | ABC Motsepe League

Action Spar has announced that they have officially acquired Excelsior United’s ABC Motsepe League status in the Free State province.

Spar, who participated in the Safa Mangaung Regional League, finished the 2021/22 season in the second position after accumulating 33 points in Stream A, six points adrift of stream leaders Kingston FC.

The side will also change its name to Bloemfontein Eagles FC when the 2022/23 campaign commences.

“The team has bought the status of Excelsior United, which plays in the Free State ABC Motsepe League. Therefore, the team will compete in the provincial ABC League from next season (2022/23),” read the club’s statement.

Meanwhile, Excelsior completed the 2022/23 season in sixth place in Stream B table of the provincial Mostepe League with 17 points from 16 outings.
