Ace Radio: Built for Those Who Listen Differently

Ace Radio is positioning itself as more than a digital radio station, combining music, personality, meaningful conversation and community engagement in an effort to create a platform that connects with listeners on a deeper level.

Founded by Christopher Marshall and Luke Henwood, the station was established with a clear vision: to bring together exceptional music, engaging presenters and conversations that have a genuine impact.

Since its launch, Ace Radio has focused on building a broadcasting environment where presenters are encouraged to bring their personalities and experiences to the microphone. For the station, successful radio is not only about what audiences hear, but also about the connection they develop with the people behind the voices.

That philosophy extends beyond entertainment.

Ace Radio says one of its central goals is to provide a platform for people and causes that may otherwise struggle to be heard. The station has used its reach to raise awareness about issues including gender-based violence, support for children battling cancer and campaigns against animal abuse.

The approach reflects a broader belief that media organisations have a responsibility to contribute positively to the communities they serve.

A Platform for Difficult Conversations

Ace Radio has also placed journalism and open discussion at the centre of its identity.

The station says it is committed to asking difficult questions, encouraging factual debate and holding people in positions of power accountable. Its founders believe corruption and injustice should be confronted through responsible reporting, while independent media should remain willing to address issues that affect society.

In an increasingly crowded media landscape, Ace Radio aims to create space for conversations that may be uncomfortable but necessary, while maintaining a focus on accuracy, accountability and constructive engagement.

Combining Technology with Human Connection

As a digital-first broadcaster, innovation has been an important part of Ace Radio’s development.

The station continues to explore new technology and digital platforms to reach audiences, but its founders maintain that technology should never replace the human connection at the heart of radio.

Whether through live shows, interviews or public events, Ace Radio’s aim is to create shared experiences that allow listeners to feel part of a wider community.

That philosophy will extend beyond the studio on 29 August, when Ace Radio and Arena X host a Fan Park experience for the Springboks’ clash with the All Blacks.

The event is expected to bring supporters together for an occasion centred on sport, entertainment and local talent, while giving the station an opportunity to engage directly with its audience.

For Ace Radio, the Fan Park represents the broader purpose behind the brand: creating memorable experiences that bring people together.

As the station continues to grow, its ambition remains centred on building a community rather than simply growing an audience.

Ace Radio describes itself as a platform for important voices, a space for honest conversation and a home for listeners looking for something different from the traditional radio experience.

Ace Radio. Built for those who listen differently.
