Reality TV star and food enthusiast Abongwe Mseleku dedicated her degree to her mother, Busisiwe MaCele, the first wife of the famous polygamist, Musa Mseleku.

On Tuesday, 31 March Abongwe posted a reel on her Instagram, where she beautifully and skillfully (of course, she’s a film graduate) captured her graduation day.

The 21-year-old completed her film studies at the prestigious film school, AFDA in Johannesburg.

ABONGWE MSELEKU: THE GRADUATE

The graduation was attended by her parents, who beamed with pride over their daughter’s milestone.

Abongwe, the eldest daughter of MaCele, penned an emotional caption reflecting on her mother’s support and the journey that led to her graduation day.

“Thank you, God! What a blessing it is to walk across the stage and not just walk across it, but look to my left and wave at both my parents. What a blessing it is to bring uncontrollable tears of joy to them,” wrote Abongwe.

“This is for you, Mom,” and then suddenly, everything you’ve ever prayed for, Ma has come to fruition. Your love and support is [are] unconditional, and what a blessing it is to fulfill your prayer point,” she wrote.

“More than anything, I am filled with gratitude. You’ve been crying since the beginning of the month, and we [are] literally at the end, and you [are] still crying? You have no idea how happy I am to do this for you. Welcome to graduation, Ma,” she added.

ABONGWE: ‘THANK YOU FOR BELIEVING IN ME’

Abongwe also dedicated a tribute to her father, Musa, thanking him for always believing in her. She expressed gratitude that he lived to see her graduate, despite suffering a stroke in 2024.

She also holds a special place in his heart because of her striking resemblance to his late grandmother, Gog’ Flo.

“Mthombeni, the Lord has been good to us more than anything. 2 years ago, I cried terribly cause [because] I almost lost a huge part of me. I went back to school and had to act like nothing was wrong cause unfortunately, life had to go on,” she began.

She added, “I texted you almost every day just to make sure I was still safe, and you were still kicking. 2 years later, I still cry, but I cry with a smile on my face and relief in my heart… the Lord had mercy upon me and made sure you lived to see this day.”

“Thank you for believing in me at all times, for making sure I go to school, for crying the whole month too, for being a present father, and most importantly, thank you for loving me,” she concluded.

Besides her production and cooking skills, Abongwe also has an eye for fashion.

On her graduation day, she stepped out in a maroon suit with studded shoulders detailing, coupled with loafers and a fresh haircut.

MORE GRADUATES IN THE FAMILY

Abongwe joins her sister, Mpilo Mseleku, as the newest graduate in the Mseleku family.

Mpilo, who is Musa’s daughter and MaKhumalo’s adoptive child, obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) in 2025.

Meanwhile, Mbali MaNgwabe’s son, Simphiwe, from a previous relationship, celebrated his graduation as well.
