During the winter season where strong winds are blowing and rain is falling, hairstyles are bound to change.

To protect your natural hair from breakage, damage, or being wet and dirty, a girlie has to get a hairstyle that offers both style and protection for the duration of winter.

Here are some of the hairstyles that can protect your natural hair, and still maintain your style:

Cornrows

A classic and versatile protective style, cornrows can be styled in different patterns, and are great for keeping the hair tucked and protected during winter days. This hairstyle becomes advantageous to someone who does not like hairstyles that take longer to install and for those who don’t like to keep the same hairstyle for a long time for various reasons. The maximum time you can stay with this hairstyle is three – four weeks.

Braids

Similar to twists, box braids and other braided styles offer great protection and can be styled in various ways, including updos and ponytails. This hairstyle can be kept neat and clean for well over a month. It is advantageous because you can spend half of winter with the same hairstyle. It can be washed and based to prevent dandruff from ruining your hairstyle.

Wigs and weaves

Wigs offer a convenient way to change up your look while protecting your natural hair. This is a versatile hairstyle because, it makes you feel like you still have your natural hair in winter. It can be changed as many times as you want, and it can be kept for two-three weeks.
