He has been making all sorts of headlines of late after it was revealed that he is the highest-paid talisman of Mamelodi Sundowns. Mzansi was shocked after it was revealed that the lowest paid player at Sundowns cashes in a whooping R50 000 as a take-home salary. However, in the mix of things, it was also revealed that their prodigal son Bongani Zungu who recently joined them again after his stint in Europe, is the highest paid.

Well, in the mix of things, Mzansi has been more than keen on trying to connect the dots when it comes to how much Zungu earn. After all, his salary remains a mystery but confirmed reports have it that he is the highest paid talisman at Sundowns.

With a prolific career that spans years, Zungu is one of the finest midfielders to have come from Mzansi. Zungu kicked off his career with appearances with the University of Pretoria during the 2012-2013 season. He made 25 appearances before joining Sundowns in 2013. During his stint at Mamelodi Sundowns, he had 58 appearances. At Sundowns, he won two league titles, Nedbank and the Telkom knockout cup, under the charge of football Gaffer Pitso Mosimane.

However, despite his car collection full of SUVs, he also owns several sleek cars, which include a Golf GTI limited edition. Against these big wins, he has built up a million-rand fleet that leaves a lot to be desired. However, his car collection is estimated at around R10 million, leaving Mzansi wondering about his net worth.

Despite making a fortune from football, Bongani Zungu also doubles as an ambassador for several global companies, including Vaseline. As of 2022, the rumour mill has it that he has an estimated net worth of R27 million.

Not so long ago, he saw himself trending after Mzansi tried to connect the dots about his private life. Social media was set ablaze after several tabloids said that Bongani is the son of AmaZulu owner Zungu. However, they might have striking resemblances but are not the relation but only share the same surname. The two are yet to weigh the daring allegations that have thrust them into top trends on several social media platforms.
