Fans of American R&B star, Tank, will have to wait a little longer to see the singer live in action. This comes after a disruption in the planning process caused his live performance to be cancelled.

The “Before We Start” hitmaker was scheduled to perform at the opening of Ndlala Mall in Pretoria this past weekend, 2nd and 3rd August. However, just days before the concert was set to take place, he revealed that he would be withdrawing from the event.

In a lengthy video, he expressed his disappointment.

“South Africa, what’s going on? I was looking forward to coming out there; it’s been over 10 years. But some things have fallen apart business-wise that will keep me from fulfilling my obligations to you. I first want to apologise to the fans and everyone who was making plans to pull up and enjoy the music,” he explained.

Meanwhile, he remained optimistic about performing in Mzansi and said that if things can be resolved, he would still want to come over and give his fans a good time.

“Hopefully, things can be resolved, and I can get out there and do what I love to do.

“I love going to new places and giving people the R&B experience that is me. South Africa, I don’t want to leave you out… I won’t be there this August 2nd and 3rd, but we’ll figure out how to make it happen,” he added.

Ndlala Mall has since released a statement announcing that its eagerly awaited opening has been postponed to 23rd August.

In a post shared on social media, they wrote: “The highly anticipated event originally set for 2 August 2025 has been postponed to Saturday, 23 August 2025, and reimagined into something even more spectacular.

“Introducing Ndlala Grandeur, an unforgettable evening featuring a refreshed line-up of award-winning artists, ready to deliver a riveting and soulful musical showcase like never before.”
