Harry Kane was England’s golden boy in golden boots yet again as he led his side to a 2-0 win over Finland on the occasion of his 100th Three Lions appearance.
Lee Carsley’s first Wembley game as England manager could not have gone any better as his captain marked a centurion of international caps with a beautiful display in front of the home fans.
The Bayern Munich striker first netted shortly before the hour mark after being set-up by man of the match, Trent Alexander Arnold.
His second came 20 minutes later after Chelsea’s in-form creator Noni Madueke assisted to put the icing on the cake.
England’s bid for Uefa Nations League promotion has certainly gathered early momentum as the Three Lions sit comfortably alongside Greece with two wins from two in Group B2.
In Group A3, table-topping Netherlands and Germany played out an entertaining 2-2 draw while Bosnia and Herzegovina against Hungary finished goalless.
Tijjani Reijnders put the Dutch ahead inside just two minutes before Deniz Undav and Joshua Kimmich turned the game around just before the break.
Denzel Dumfries levelled matters again shortly after half-time and that is how matters would conclude in Amsterdam.
