Mounir Nasraoui, the father of Barcelona’s young star Lamine Yamal, was stabbed late on Wednesday night in a car park in Spain.

Nasraoui, 35, was taken to Can Ruti Hospital in Badalona, La Vanguardia reported.

Initially, his condition was described as serious. However, the sports website Relevo later reported that Nasraoui had been discharged from the hospital and was at home.

Police quickly arrived at the scene of the attack and identified several witnesses.

The regional Mossos d’Esquadra police and Mataró local government have not provided further details.

Nasraoui’s son, Yamal, has been making headlines for his rising stardom.

At just 16, Yamal became the youngest player to score at a European Championship, pivotal in Spain’s victory at Euro 2024.

Nasraoui was at the match where Yamal made history. He scored a crucial goal against France in the semi-final and helped Spain win the final against England.
