Mamelodi Sundowns are in Nigeria’s Abeokuta to face Remo Stars in the CAF Champions League second round preliminary qualifiers at 17:00.

Coach Miguel Cardoso has made two lineup changes after the shock loss to Marumo Gallants in the Carling Knockout last 16.

New Portuguese superstar Miguel Reisinho gets his full start after making his debut as a substitute against Gallants.

Teboho Mokoena has retained his place in central midfield as Bathusi Aubaas drops to the bench. In attack, Miguel Reisinho has replaced Arthur Sales, while Peter Shalulile has come in for Iqraam Rayners.

FULL LINE UP

Ronwen Williams (c), Khuliso Mudau, Malibongwe Khoza, Keanu Cupido, Aubrey Modiba, Teboho Mokoena, Marcelo Allende, Miguel Reisinho, Tashreeq Matthews, Peter Shalulile, Nuno Santos.

Substitutes: Denis Onyango, Jayden Adams, Arthur Sales, Bathusi Aubaas, Kutlwano Lethlaku, Grant Kekana, Divine Lunga, Katlego Ntsabeleng, Lebogang Mothiba.

The Betway Premiership champions seek another deep continental run after reaching last season’s CAF Champions League final.

Sundowns have had a solid, if slightly mixed, start to the season by their own high standards. Kabo Yellow sit top of the table, but three draws and a defeat raised eyebrows.

In cup competitions, they bowed out of the Carling Knockout in the first round against Marumo Gallants and lost to Orlando Pirates in the MTN8 semifinals. Still, their attacking firepower remains impressive, with 17 goals scored in 10 league games while conceding just five.

Remo Stars, on the other hand, have struggled domestically and sit 13th in the NPFL after seven games, recording three wins, one draw, and three losses. Scoring has been a challenge, with only seven goals, while they’ve conceded nine. Despite their slow start, the Nigerians will be fired up to make life difficult for Sundowns on home soil in the CAF Champions League.
