Entrepreneur and television personality Basetsana Kumalo has once again received a top accolade for her powerful impact on those around her.

The former pageantry model recently took to Instagram, sharing the exciting news that she has been acknowledged with a BPI Mid-Mile category award.

The BPI Iconic Leadership and Excellence Awards  are hosted by the BPI Foundation. They celebrate and recognise ethical and visionary leadership across Africa in various sectors like business, civil society, education, and government.

Sharing a heartfelt post, Basetsana expressed her appreciation for receiving an accolade of this magnitude.

In her acceptance speech, she described the moment as more than just an honour but said that it was a full-circle moment.

“At this stage in life, over fifty years lived and worked, one learns that true leadership is not about titles, accolades, or even the spotlight. It is about the long road of service, the daily choices to remain ethical when shortcuts were tempting, and the responsibility to create space where others can rise,” she said.

The former Top Billing presenter added:

“This recognition is not mine alone. It belongs to the people who trusted me, who worked beside me, who challenged me to be better.”

“So, I accept this recognition with profound gratitude. Not as a closing chapter, but as encouragement to keep going, to keep giving, to keep believing that excellence is never an end point, but a way of walking.”
