East Cambridgeshire District Council have an exciting opportunity for a Parks and Open Spaces Team Leader to join their team.

 

 

 

Location: Ely, Cambridgeshire

Salary: £30,984 – £36,371

Job Type: Full time

Parks and Open Spaces Team Leader – The Role:

 

In this role you will manage a team of 20 staff who work to fulfil several grounds maintenance contracts and maintain the Council’s parks and open spaces, closed churchyards, award ditches and car parks throughout the district.

 

 

 

Parks and Open Spaces Team Leader – Key Responsibilities:

– You will be responsible for the allocation of tasks, carrying out quality checks on work undertaken, and completing risk assessments to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations

 

 

– You will ensure that maintenance programmes are carried out and that weekly time sheets and vehicle/equipment maintenance checks are completed and submitted in a timely manner

 

 

– You will respond to general enquiries and complaints in relation to the service and carry out staff performance appraisals

– You will work alongside the Street Scene Manager (ECSS) to coordinate and oversee the organisation and implementation of partner working between Parks and Open Spaces (ECTC) and cleansing activities (ECSS) to ensure best practice is applied

 

 

– You will coordinate all Traffic Management operations, ensuring that all necessary permits, work orders and safety precautions are in place for any partnership working

 

 

– You will also work closely with the Asset Manager to provide them with information regarding invoicing and procurement, also assisting the Councils trees officer, regarding the programme of tree work

 

 

Parks and Open Spaces Team Leader – You:

– You will need to have experience working within the Environmental Services industry in an operational capacity, with direct experience working in grounds maintenance sector

 

 

– You will have knowledge of Traffic Management legislation and experience scheduling, managing and operating within given parameters

 

 

– You will have experience of managing a large operational team and training and motivating staff
