DJ Black Coffee – real name Nkosinathi Maphumalo – has been ordered to pay his ex-wife, Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa spousal maintenance in their divorce settlement after their antenuptial contract was deemed invalid.
This week, the actress announced that she had legally divorced the father of her two children, after a long, drawn-out separation.
The former couple called it quits in 2019 after tying the knot in a traditional wedding ceremony in 2011.
The muso has since moved on with Venezuelan model, Victoria Gonzalez.
BLACK COFFEE TO PAY ENHLE MBALI IN DIVORCE SETTLEMENT
According to Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa’s attorney, Jerry Nkeli, DJ Black Coffee has lost his bid to declare an antenuptial contract (ANC) signed in the latter stages of his marriage as valid.
In a statement posted on Instagram, Nkeli revealed: “The court ruled in favor of Enhle Mbali, granting her the reliefs sought. The customary marriage was declared valid and in community of property, the ANC was invalidated, and Nkosinathi Maphumulo a.k.a ‘Black Coffee’ was ordered to pay spousal maintenance.”
According to Nkeli, the court rejected an ANC signed in 2017, citing that Enhle was “misled and lacked legal advice” and that the “contract could not override the default property regime of their customary marriage.”
He added: “This landmark ruling highlights the importance of protecting women’s rights in customary marriages”.
‘GRATEFUL FOR THIS UGLY JOURNEY’
On her own Instagram account, Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa celebrated her official divorce from Black Coffee.
She shared: “I’m so grateful for this ugly journey that gave me so many lessons. Today God has laid a table for me…”

Enhle thanked her legal team and her loved ones for carrying her through the difficult time.
She continued: “[They] pushed me and reminded me of the greatness I had in me. Reminded me how important it was to fight, most importantly for my children and more so for the rights of women in South Africa.
