Emergency Medical Services,

Minimum Requirements:
• Grade 12 / Senior certificate.

Inherent requirements of the job:
• Physically fit to do manual labour.
• Must be between the ages of 18 – 35 years old.
• Valid PrDP and Code 10 drivers licence.
• Must be able to work 12-hour shifts and overtime when needed.

Registration certificate with the HPCSA as a Basic Ambulance Assistant (BAA) or Ambulance Emergency Assistant (AEA).
• Valid annual registration with the HPCSA as a Basic Ambulance Assistant (BAA) or Ambulance Emergency Assistant (AEA)

• Must be a current contracted volunteer in Emergency Medical Services with a valid volunteer contract.

Deliver effective pre-hospital emergency care under supervision.
• Maintenance of emergency vehicles and equipment.
• Demonstrate safe driving practices.
• Complete basic administration and record keeping within the scope of practice.
• Attend all development initiatives in line with the scope of practice.

Shortlisted candidates will be expected to undergo the following assessments:
• Oral interview and/or practical clinical skills assessment
• Driver assessment if authorization is older than 6 months at the date of the interview

• Completion of a DOTS360 form, to verify the documents that are submitted with the application.
