Canadian R&B duo DVSN will headline this year’s Once Upon A Time In Joburg concert, set to take place on 7 December at Fourways Farmer’s Market.

DVSN IN JOHANNESBURG

Known for their soulful sound, DVSN’s addition to the lineup firmly places South Africa at the centre of the global R&B resurgence.

The event, produced by Doctor Bird Productions, has become one of Johannesburg’s most anticipated R&B showcases.

DVSN AND SOUTH AFRICA’S RNB SCENE

Phase 1 tickets sold out within hours of release on 9 October, with Phase 2 following shortly after. Fans who missed out can expect a Phase 3 ticket announcement soon, according to LAMAG.

Singer Daniel Daley and producer Nineteen85 form DVSN and have earned acclaim for their moody instrumentation and heartfelt themes of love, loss, and self-discovery.

Their upcoming Johannesburg performance will mark a key moment in South Africa’s R&B scene. The scene has grown significantly in recent years thanks to rising local acts such as Elaine and Lloyiso.

TICKETS SOLD OUT

The duo’s excitement was clear in their message to fans on X (formerly Twitter): “Joburg, we see all the messages about tickets being sold out!

Don’t worry, more tickets will be available soon. Can’t wait to give you what you’ve been needing.”

For many South African fans, DVSN’s participation is about global recognition.

Once Upon A Time In Joburg has provided a stage for lesser-sung heroes of the genre. It blends international headliners with local talent to celebrate the depth of R&B culture, according to SA Hip Hop.

ONCE UPON A TIME IN JOBURG

Johannesburg’s reputation as the heart of Africa’s live music scene continues to grow with events like this.

Ticket prices have yet to be officially listed for Phase 3, but are expected to fall within the typical premium live event range for Joburg concerts.

With DVSN’s smooth harmonies and passionate stage presence, Once Upon A Time In Joburg promises an unforgettable night.
