SABC to air Bafana Bafana’s biggest game in 24 years

20210’s hosting qualification does not count. Bafana Bafana’s last automatic qualification for the FIFA World Cup was back in 2002 at Korea and Japan.

Victory over Zimbabwe at Moses Mabhida Stadium could decide whether South Africa march to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The entire country will be glued to their screens as Hugo Broos’s men chase a result that could seal their place among the world’s best.

SABC 2 TO TELEVISE ZIMBABWE VS BAFANA BAFANA

For those who can’t make it to Durban, SABC Sport has confirmed the game will be shown live on SABC 2 at 18:00, which is free for every South African to watch.

Bafana Bafana coach Broos highlighted the weight of the occasion. “I think this game is one of the most important in the last 24 or 25 years,” he told journalists.

“By victory, we have a chance to qualify. By defeat, I think we can stop dreaming,” the Belgian admitted.

Back in June, Bafana Bafana beat Zimbabwe 3–1 at the Free State Stadium after falling behind to Tawanda Chirewa’s opener. Thapelo Morena hit a confident brace, while Iqraam Rayners wrapped it up with a neat finish, proof that this team can fight back when it matters most.
