Chiefs fans react to Nabi’s departure

With Nasreddine Nabi having officially left Kaizer Chiefs, supporters are calling for the club to bring an a top ocach.

Nabi (60) joined Amakhosi last season and helped the club to their first trophy in 10 years. His league resutls were poor however he was given another season to improve the club. Having bought 10 players, Chiefs started the season well winning all their three matches.

Those wins however came under assitant coaches; Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze, who were standing in for Nabi while he was attending family matters.

The Tunisan coach returned but failed to continue with the winning momentum. After a devastating 3-1 loss to Sekhukhune United, Chiefs ‘supended’ Nabi with Ben Youssef and Kaze once again taking over.

On Friday, Amakhosi confirmed that the club and Nabi parted ways.

“Following the announcement earlier today of a mutual parting of ways between Kaizer Chiefs FC and Head Coach Nasreddine Nabi, the Club can confirm that Coaches Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze will lead the technical team for the remainder of the 2025/26 season,” Chiefs said in a statement.

Chiefs and Nabi part ways, fans not happy

Nabi’s exit has divided opinions on social media amongst Chiefs fans. Some felt the Tunisian should have been given another season while others believe the club can do better without his services.

“Mina I will say good decision much as is derailing our progress, but you can’t keep an unhappy Man expecting good results, the Nabi that came back was not the same as the one left to attend his wife, so for me I think the decision was best for everyone,” @MandlaManana2 tweeted.

“This thing of firing a coach and promote his assistants to be head coaches will never work, there’s a reason they were assistant in the first place, It didn’t work with Dillion and Zwane and It will definitely won’t work the two lads,” @ZweliVikaII tweeeted.

“Kaizer chiefs fumbled with this Nabi project thing..Now we have players but we dont have a proper coach to lead a project,” @syadiko tweeted.
