Thuso Mbedu nominated among others for 2026 Africa Choice Awards

South African media personalities have caught the attention of Africa Choice Awards, leading to their nominations for the 7th edition which will take place in 2026.

The Africa Choice Awards are a platform that recognises people in the creative industry. Currently, Mzansi is gearing up to host the 7th edition next year with ‘Culture Reigns’ as the theme.

According to the awards page, the nominees provided depth, intensity, and performance that stays with you. They didn’t just act — they transformed the screen. The nominees have been revealed and among them are Shaka iLembe stars Dawn Thandeka King and Nomzamo Mbatha, along side Gail Mabalane, Kgomotso Christopher, Thuso Mbedu and Enhle Mbali. They each earned themselves nominations in the Female Movie Star of the Year category.

In the Male Movie Star of the Year category, there is Vuyo Dabula, Bonko Khoza, Sphamandla Dludlu, Thapelo Mokoena and Abdul Khoza. For the Male TV Star of the Year category, here are the nominees: Clint Brink, Wiseman Zitha, Ntuthuzelo Prince Grootboom, Sandile Mahlangu, Senzo Radebe, Jesse Suntele and Lunga Shabalala.

Meanwhile, the nominees for Female TV Star of the Year are Thembi Seete, Lunathi Mampofu, Zenande Mfenyana, Nqobile Nunu, Gaisang Noge, Lerato Mvelase, Natasha Thahane and Linda Sokhulu.

The date of the awards has not been announced yet, and the voting lines will soon open.
