It appears Ngizwe Mchunu’s battle with the LGBTQ+ community is far from over, as he returned to his social media to address Somizi in particular after he was denied entry at Kwa Mai Mai for his previous comments.
Controversial media personality Ngizwe Mchunu has kicked Pride Month off to an interesting start, as he took to social media to call the LGBTQ+ community out for disrespecting the Zulu culture. This comes after a picture of a traditional same-sex wedding made rounds on social media platforms. According to the contentious radio personality, members of the community should not be donning the Zulu nation’s sacred traditional regalia, as he deems homosexuality an abomination.
Ngizwe’s homophobic remarks quickly circulated on various social media platforms, garnering immense backlash, with members of the LGBTQ+ community speaking out about the dangers of harbouring such messages, especially by people with as much power and influence. Subsequently, he was denied entry to Kwa Mai Mai for inciting violence against the minority group.

This did not sit well with Ngizwe, who then returned to his social media to double down on his stance, and urged Somizi to encourage the LGBTQ+ community to stand down, and adhere to their demands to desist from donning the traditional attire. Furthermore, he not only demanded that Somizi issue an apology for mocking him, but also threatened violence should his demands not be met.

As the matter continues to unfold, netizens have expressed immense concern regarding Ngizwe’s utterances, citing fear that he may act on his threats. Some have gone to the extent of reporting him to the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC), in hopes of putting an end to this, and holding Ngizwe accountable.
