Siya Kolisi, Eben Etzebeth and Damian Willemse had the chance to meet French and Arsenal football club legend Thierry Henry while in England.

Henry hosted the trio for dinner following their historic triumph over Argentina.

The Springboks retained the Castle Lager Rugby Championship title with a hard-fought but well-deserved 29-27 victory at the Allianz Stadium, Twickenham, on Saturday. They came back from a 13-10 deficit at half-time to secure a memorable win in London.

The victory marked their second consecutive championship, with New Zealand finishing second after defeating Australia earlier in the day in Perth. Both teams ended on 19 log points, but the Springboks had a superior points difference of +57 compared to the All Blacks’ +8.

Reflecting on the evening, Springbok lock Eben Etzebeth shared that Henry is the reason he started watching football.

Henry expressed his gratitude after meeting the Boks, writing, “Thank you, and the human being is even more impressive than the player. Thanks for coming, my brother.”
