Newly-promoted DStv Premiership side Polokwane City have completed the signing of former Chippa United and TS Galaxy goalkeeper Masizakhe Myataza.

Myataza was recently on the books of Chippa United after joining them at the beginning of last season on a one-year contract.

The 26-year-old was loaned out by the Chili Boys to their feeder team PeaceMakers for half of the campaign due to lack of game-time.

The Tsomo-born goalkeeper won the Nedbank Cup with Galaxy in 2019 after being part of the squad that beat Kaizer Chiefs 1-0 courtesy of a solitary goal by Zakhele Lepasa.

‘Blacks’ has been free agent since leaving Chippa in May.

He kept himself fit training with Flamingo FC, which is based in the heart of Langa in the Western Cape and competes under the Langa Football Association.

iDiski Times can confirm that Myataza signed a one-year contract with Polokwane City and he is expected to compete with Manuel Sapunga, who has kept four clean sheets in 2023/24 so far, for the first-choice spot.
