Cameroon goalkeeper Andre Onana was involved in a road accident this morning ahead of their crucial 2022 FIFA World Cup playoff against Algeria.

The shot-stopper who plays his club football in the Netherlands under the champions of Eridivise AFC Ajax is reported to have been involved in a head-on collision with another vehicleon the Yaounde-Douala route as he was set to travel to training.

Onana, 25, returned to professional football in January for the Africa Cup of Nations after winning his appeal on his football ban at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) for a ruling of testing positive for a banned substance.

He also was part of the Ajax team that managed to get all three points on Sunday in a thrilling 3-2 win over their arch-rivals Feyenoord and is once again returned to the form that’s earned him global plaudits.

It has been reported that the 25-year old didn’t suffer any injuries as he will continue joining The Indomitable Lions camp, should he pass the medical examination over the next two days.

The Indomitable Lions will host Les Verts for the first leg of the World Cup qualifying playoff at the Japoma Stadium on Friday evening.
