Concerns For Zola 7’s Safety After Incident At Recent Performance

South African rapper Zola 7 recently found himself at the centre of a heated discussion after a video surfaced on social media showing an incident that took place during a performance at the Back To the City SA gig.

The video, posted on the X app (formerly known as Twitter) by user @Zikamnyamane, captured the moment when Zola 7 was bumped on the shoulder by fellow rapper and music producer, Ammunition.

In the video, which was played in slow motion, Zola 7 can be seen giving Ammunition a long glance after the incident. This sparked concerns among fans and users on the platform, who expressed worries about the safety of the beloved Kwaito star.

One user, @RealKingChauke, expressed their horror at the incident, stating, “This is a bit disturbing…” Another user, @bomb_sak, provided some insight into the situation, explaining that such actions were more of a greeting or salute rather than disrespect, emphasizing that things were different back in the day.

However, not everyone shared the same sentiment. User @BaFooks expressed their amazement, asking, “We must protect Zola from Ammunition?” User @NeoThafeng pointed out that Ammunition was never a successful musician, implying that his actions may have been driven by jealousy or resentment.

While some users brushed off the incident as a mere salute, others, like @Zikamnyamane, suggested that it could also be a hint for potential danger. They mentioned that such gestures are sometimes used as a signal for hired hitmen, known as izinkabi.

I don’t want to bring AKA into this.” User @Mash_Dini observed that the push seemed intentional, highlighting the stank look that Ammunition gave Zola 7 after the incident.

As fans and supporters of Zola 7, it is natural for us to worry about his safety. While the intentions behind the incident remain unclear, it is essential to remember that public figures, like Zola 7, often face unique challenges and risks.
