PICS| 22-Year-Old Woman And Foreign National Boyfriend Arrested For Drug Dealing
Police in Limpopo, led by the provincial crime intelligence narcotics team, have made a significant arrest in the fight against drug trafficking. A couple has been apprehended in Polokwane for allegedly dealing in drugs.
The arrest took place on Wednesday at approximately 5am, when the suspects arrived at a residential estate in Polokwane after travelling from Gauteng province. The Limpopo police spokesperson, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, stated that the police received information about suspects who were transporting drugs from Gauteng to Polokwane.

An intelligence-driven operation was immediately launched, and the suspects’ vehicle was closely monitored until it reached an estate in Ivydale, on the outskirts of Polokwane. A thorough search was conducted inside the vehicle, leading the police officers to discover a significant quantity of crystal meth with a street value of approximately R80,000. The drugs, along with the vehicle, were promptly confiscated by the police.
The two individuals involved in the drug dealing operation were subsequently arrested and charged. The 38-year-old man, who is a foreign national, and his South African partner, aged 22, are now facing charges for dealing in drugs. They are scheduled to appear in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Friday, October 13, to face the consequences of their alleged criminal activities.

Expressing her satisfaction with the successful operation, provincial commissioner of police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, commended the law enforcement unit for their prompt response. The arrest of this couple is a significant step towards curbing the drug trade in the region and serves as a warning to others involved in similar illegal activities.
