Barker On Ox Replacement – iDiski Times

Head coach of Stellenbosch FC Steve Barker has detailed the replacement of Sibongiseni Mthethwa after Sihle Nduli fitted in like a glove of late.

A few weeks ago, Stellies confirmed the departure of Mthethwa to Kaizer Chiefs with few days before the window transfer closes. The Cape Winelands side didn’t have to look outside for the replacement of OX as they immediately pushed Nduli in.

Barker touched on former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Darren Macheke who is currently going through assessment at Stellies as he is also seen as someone who can add value to the squad, but the decision will be made in the coming days.

“I think obviously the one player that didn’t get a lot of game time when OX was here is Sihle Nduli since Ox is gone he had three games in a row, Pirates, Sundowns and against (TS Galaxy) – and he’s been really solid,” Barker said.

“So fortunate we have those players that know how we play it wasn’t that we needed to find somebody, we are looking obviously on Darrel Macheke things are looking positive so we will see how that develops.”

Stellenbosch are currently in 10th place in the league with three wins, a draw and five defeats in their opening nine games.
