Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has announced his final squad for the upcoming friendlies against Eswatini and Ivory Coast.

The South African men’s national team will host Eswatini on 13 October 2023, before travelling to play AFCON hosts Côte d’Ivoire on 17 October.

Broos had named a 36-man preliminary squad two weeks ago and now cut down his selection ahead of the international break.

South Africa are currently on a nine-match unbeaten streak, winning six matches and draw three.

The upcoming friendlies are preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Benin and Rwanda in November.

Broos confirmed that Thapelo Morena, Bathusi Aubaas and Innocent Maela are out due to injury, while Orlando Pirates left-back Paseka Mako, who wasn’t even in the preliminary squad, received a first call-up.
