The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has confirmed the MTN8 final between Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns has been sold out.

In just 18 hours after ticket sales went up for the event at Moses Mabhida Stadium next Saturday, it’s been snapped up for the 55,500-seater arena.

The 2010 FIFA World Cup venue will showcase a 2022 semi-finalist and arguably the two strongest sides in the league that finished champions and runners-up last season.

“The MTN8 final will be played at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, 07 October 2023 (18h00). Gates will open at 14h00 and ticket holders are requested to arrive early to ensure smooth entry,” read part of the PSL statement on Friday morning.

“The PSL is working closely with the South African Police Service and several other safety and security role players to ensure a safe and secure event. As part of the stringent security measures around the stadium, people engaging in illegal behaviour such as ticket peddling will face immediate arrest. There will be no tickets sold at the stadium.

“Members of the public who are interested in purchasing hospitality packages can contact Moses Mabhida Stadium via email on: [email protected]

“The match will be LIVE on the SuperSport PSL Channel (202) and SABC Sport.”

Pirates come into the clash as reigning champions, and Nedbank Cup champions while Sundowns will be aiming to reclaim the title they won with a domestic clean sweep two seasons prior under then co-coaches Manqoba Mnqithi and Rulani Mokwena.
