Tau – What ‘Confident’ Broos Tells Us At Bafana

Bafana Bafana vice captain Percy Tau has revealed what Hugo Broos tells his players during camps with the national team.

Tau, 29, is one of the main pillars in Broos’ squad and is expected to play a lead role in the upcoming friendlies against Namibia and DR Congo, as well as the FIFA World Cup qualifiers later in the year.

Broos has always been outspoken towards the media, giving his opinions on a wide range of topics and never shy to share his opinion.

Tau has now opened up about what it’s like to work with the Belgian tactician, revealing that Broos tries to boost the confidence of his players but he will also tell them when there are things he doesn’t like.

“He’s very confident, I don’t know if you guys see it,” Tau said at the 10Bet x Bafana media breakfast.

“He is chilled but he is a very confident coach and he tells us we should also be confident because we are good players and we have good players in South Africa.

“But he also tells it the way it is if we’re not doing the work, if we’re not running back and also if we’re not playing the way he wants us to play.

“We are starting to see that his demands are getting closer into us, so we can easily share that he demands so much, we give him so much.”

Bafana take on Namibia on 9 September at 15:00 at Orlando Stadium, while they host DR Congo at the same venue just three days later.
