Speaking to the media, Broos said he had meetings to with Molefi Ntseki to try and pursuade him to be his assistant at Bafana Bafana.

Ironically, Broos replaced Ntseki as Bafana Bafana head coach after the current Chiefs was sacked by SAFA in March 2021.

And according to Broos, that proposed deal didn’t materialise and then he went for Helman Mkhalele as one of his assistants.

Broos’ revelation comes on the back of what some would describe as a ‘war of words’ between him and Ntseki.

Broos recently made a remark that no Chiefs player deserved to bee in his Bafana Bafana squad at this point.

However, the Belgian mentor has since changed his mind as he recalled Chiefs attacker Pule Mmodi as a replacement for the injured Themba Zwane.

BROOS REVEALS HE WANTED CHIEFS COACH NTSEKI AS BAFANA BAFANA ASSISTANT

“After the game against the DR Congo, I’ll go back to Belgium for two weeks, because after that I have October and November. So, I have to be here,” said Broos.

“If I want to see my family, I have to go for two weeks but after those two weeks, I’ll make contact with Ntseki because I know I know him very well.”

“I had a few meetings [with him] when I came here because my first idea was to have him as my assistant but okay, it didn’t work and then came Helman, and I’m very happy.

“So, I know him very well, and I know that he is upset because I said that players don’t deserve, at this point, to be in the Bafana Bafana because of their performances.”

“I didn’t say that he didn’t change anything because then you attack a colleague on his skills, and I will never do that. It’s worse when somebody puts those words in your mouth, and that he has to know. So, I will make contact with him when I come back,” concluded Broos.
